About
Emma Wilson- The Artisan
Greetings! Mimzy here to do her little spiel.
I love art and design… painting, drawing, digital art (CG- Computer Graphics). Japan, too, is a love of mine. I’ve been hosted in Fujidera, Osaka for two weeks, with day trips out and a couple of nights in Tokyo. I fell in love with the land and people, and I’m working on getting back there and thanking my family for their generosity. And of course I love wearable art… namely jewellery.
All of the hand-made jewellery you will find here is made by myself and my adopted friend-come-sister KT. The bone carvings are done by my Uncle Bruce.
The Paua (NZ Abalone) pieces that I so sparingly sometimes use are cut, sanded and polished by me from fresh shells gifted to me by dear friends. I like to work with lots of different mediums such as beads, shells, wire, and especially semi-precious stones and gems. I will be learning to work with metals soon. Hopefully silver art clay. That stuff is amazing, god bless the Japanese artisans.
I am developing new pieces all the time. When I see something new I simply have to try it, so come back often and see what new and exciting things I’ve dabbled in.

KT-The Friend, Artisan and Hired Help
Heya - KT here…
Emz and I have been friends since Year 10, High School. Our first year was a little shady (Mimzy- We hated each-other) Yes, well, that changed.
We share a lot of common interests; books, Manga, Anime, Johnny Depp. Emz more than me with that last one, though. And, of course, jewellery. (Mimzy- I can’t vouch for her tastes, though) Sure Emz, like yours aren’t weird?
Currently my dream is to go to Summer Camp USA as a Camp Counsellor and to travel around the world. I’ve been accepted to Camp USA and I leave this May. Wish me luck!

Under the tutelage of a Master Carver I have discovered a natural talent and a creative expression of that talent. With the support of my Whanau (family) I am proud to share with you my labours of love.
